Who We Are: The Collaborative Journey Behind Ask Frank

I'm Justin Prince, Managing Director of LevelUp and the founder of Ask Frank. With nearly three decades in human resources and industrial relations, I've navigated the complexities of compliance across industries like construction, mining, and government sectors.

Throughout my career, I've witnessed firsthand the challenges businesses face in staying compliant amidst evolving regulations. Traditional methods—manual audits, consultant reports, and static documents—often fall short in providing timely and accessible solutions.

The Genesis of Ask Frank

Recognising the need for a more dynamic approach, I envisioned a tool that could provide real-time, scenario-based compliance assistance. This vision led to the creation of Ask Frank, a Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) AI assistant built on OpenAI’s LLM framework.

Ask Frank is designed to handle real-time compliance challenges across HR, payroll, industrial relations, and safety. Whether embedded into HR platforms or accessed via a standalone interface, it delivers authoritative answers drawn from curated or uploaded datasets, ensuring relevance, accuracy, and source traceability.

My vision for Ask Frank extends beyond compliance assistance. I aim to provide a single access point to a world of data specific to a business—be it through the enterprise version tailored to an organisation’s unique datasets or through vertical-specific solutions like HR. This approach eliminates the need for users to log into and navigate multiple systems, simplifying data retrieval, analysis, and extrapolation. By centralising access, we make complex topics easily understood, allowing everyone—from frontline employees to executives—to engage with data meaningfully. The future we envision is one where equality of access is paramount, breaking down barriers that once restricted information to specialists.
